Underground

A cocktail bar hidden in a London underground station

In 1946, a band of daring scoundrels stumbled upon a hidden gem beneath Soho’s bustling streets: the forgotten Kingly Court Underground Station. Originally an air raid shelter, the station had become a refuge adorned with quirky bric-a-brac—dusty lampshades, mismatched crockery, old toys, and piles of tinned food—all remnants of an attempt to create a ‘home away from home.’ This subterranean spot became the perfect backdrop for their nocturnal escapades—defying rationing rules, serving top-notch bootleg cocktails, and hosting sensational swinging parties with live music that kept the night alive.

The underground station is made up of two distinctive platforms, the Northbound and Southbound, connected by a central passageway. Visiting scoundrels can even take a seat on board a life-size carriage, complete with authentic tube seats. Mind the gap, chums!

Otherwise known as the drinking den of the Scoundrels, those wily enough to find their way into Cahoots will discover a triumph of post-war resourcefulness, from the old-fashioned wooden escalators that lead guests downstairs, to the dramatic tiled platform bar set alongside a vintage train carriage.
